Wendell T Smith, 87, died peacefully in his apartment in Dousman, Wisc., on June 13, 2021. He was born in Belknap, Ill., and raised in Anna, Ill. Wendell joined the United States Air Force on April 28, 1952, and spent 21-and-a-half years proudly serving his country.

Ann Emerson “Queenie” King, 96, of San Diego, a longtime Kingfisher resident, passed away Feb. 22, 2021. She was born Feb. 9, 1925, in Kingfisher to Edward (Sr.) and Virginia Quintle. She lived in San Diego for approximately 60 years.

Gene L. “Whit” Whitaker, 82, passed away June 11, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City after a year-long battle with lung disease. Gene was born Dec. 2, 1938, in Salem, Ill., to Russell G. Whitaker and Wilma Lee Chenoweth Whitaker.

Cecil Ray Kughn began his walk on this earth on July 16, 1945, when he was born to Ray and Thelma Gillman Kughn in Crescent. He departed this world on June 1, 2021, at the age of 75 years, 10 months and 16 days. Cecil was one of six children.

Donald L. Jones, 81, passed away May 25, 2021. Don was born Oct. 15, 1940, in Council Grove, Kan., to Herbert and Gladys (Campmier) Jones. He married Rojean Ann Beeman on June 25, 1958.
