Kingfisher will be the host site of a Class 5A girls wrestling regional next Tuesday, Feb. 13.Among the schools joining host KHS at the regional will be Cashion and Hennessey.

Kingfisher’s Coleman Gilles and Clinton’s Atticus Thompson both scored a majority of their team’s points.Gilles had more points… and more help.His team, therefore, got the win.The Jackets dominated a 12-minute stretch of the second half Friday to help earn a 33-25 win at Clinton’s Tornado Dome.

The second half didn’t provide a lot of offense for either team Monday night in Dover.Fortunately for the Longhorns, they did enough in the first half.Dover won its fifth straight game as it downed Pioneer-Pleasant Vale 4124 at home.

Lomega’s nearly season- long win streak met its match Saturday.Class A’s top-ranked and two-time defending champion Seiling flexed some muscle in a 69-32 victory at home against Class B’s second- ranked Lady Raiders.

The Oklahoma high school wrestling and basketball postseason is near and, once they conclude, we very well could see some state champions from Kingfisher County.Four county youth got a jump start on that very feat last weekend.

Mallory Reames hit two big shots Tuesday to help Fairview upset Cashion.The guard hit the game-tying shot with just 10 seconds left in regulation, then the go-ahead 3-pointer in overtime as the Lady Jackets beat Cashion 44-40 at home.
