KHS downs Reds in dual

Senior wrestlers were honored last Tuesday night at Heritage Gym, then the Yellowjackets sent them out with a win in their final home dual.Kingfisher downed visiting Clinton 48-30.Only six matches were contested on the night and the two teams split those evenly in the win-loss column.

Longhorns carrying 23-2 record, No. 1 ranking into playoffs

Abbie Myers flirted with a triple-double as Kingfisher’s win streak continued to grow early this week.KHS pulled away from Woodward 65-38 on Tuesday to give the Lady Jackets their 13th consecutive win.The 12th win came the night before as Kingfisher emerged 42-28 at Cache.

Wrestling regionals announced

The OSSAA released wrestling regional assignments this week and all three county schools landed in the same regional.Kingfisher, Cashion and Hennessey will be a part of the 3A boys west regional to be hosted by Watonga.

Some are difficult, others not so much

Kingfisher had a nail-biter and a runaway late last week to push its win streak to 11 games.The Lady Jackets were clutch at the free throw down the stretch Thursday as they held off Community Christian 46-35 on homecoming night at the APB.

Jackets returning to form

Kingfisher had to scrap for a come-from-behind victory on homecoming night, then put on a shooting display on the road the next evening to piece together a couple of wins.The comeback came against Community Christian as the Jackets survived 55-54.

Lady Eagles grab big conference win

Hennessey put together a couple of wins late last week and now has six victories in its last seven games.The Lady Eagles downed Three Rivers Conference foe Cashion 47-38 at home on Thursday and backed it up Friday by dominating Perry 61-30.

Lady Longhorns get needed victory

Coming off back-to-back lopsided losses, the Dover Lady Longhorns put on a good shooting display Friday to get back in the win column.Dover nailed eight 3-pointers to easily dispatch of visiting Ringwood 45-28.

Cashion grabs homecoming wins

Cashion snapped a twogame skid Friday with a 55-45 win against Watonga on homecoming night.JayleeHarpwascrowned homecoming queen and Vincent Raney the king.Once the ball was tipped, Harp was one of three Cashion players in double figures with 14 points.

Dover hits 17 3’s in win over Pioneer

Dover rebounded from its first loss of the season to down Pioneer-Pleasant Vale 71-25 last Tuesday.The Longhorns were coming off a defeat to Waukomis on Pioneer’s home court the previous Friday, but returned home for the dominant win over the Mustangs.
