A quick start last Friday propelled the Dover Lady Longhorns to the fourth straight win…and on homecoming night.Rylee Buck was crowned homecoming queen before the game, then scored eight points during a big first quarter in what turned out to be a 38-28 victory over visiting Pond Creek-Hunter.

Kate Myers scored nine points and earned a crown last Friday night.Myers was announced as the Lomega High School homecoming queen prior to her team’s matchup with Deer Creek-Lamont.The Lady Raiders followed up the coronation with an 89-17 victory, their ninth straight.

Oklahoma Bible Academy had no answer for Camdyn Richardson.The Hennessey senior scored 33 points Friday in the Eagles’ 88-59 home win over the Trojans.Richardson torched the nets for 29 first-half points as Hennessey staked a 5926 lead.

All four Kingfisher County teams provided strong showings over the weekend in the junior high division of the Western Conference Wrestling Tournament.Kingfisher placed third, Cashion was right behind in fourth and Hennessey was seventh in the two-day tournament held at the APB.

Okarche put the clamps on Thomas last Friday night.The Lady Warriors held their hosts to their lowest point total of the season in a 40-28 victory.The win was Okarche’s fourth in its last five games.

After a stretch of playing three consecutive ranked teams, Cashion’s schedule lightened up a bit last Friday.The Lady Wildcats responded with a relatively easy 63-29 homecoming victory against Crescent.Madison Westerhoff was crowned homecoming queen and Drake Woody the king before the games.

Jaxon Sheppard paced four placers for Kingfisher at last weekend’s Western Conference Wrestling Tournament at the APB.Sheppard was not only the lone wrestler from Kingfisher - but the entire county - to reach a championship match in the high school ranks.

The last basketball tournament week of the season is always the biggest and this week is no exception.All six Kingfisher County schools are taking part in tournaments beginning Thursday.Two schools - Kingfisher and Cashion - are hosting their own invitationals.
