Troop 196 performs flag retirement ceremony

Kingfisher Boy Scouts Troop 196 conducted a flag retirement ceremony last Saturday (Flag Day) at the Kingfisher Elks Lodge.The Scouts were joined by Elks officers and members as they lowered and folded the old flag, preparing it for its proper disposal, and then raising a new one.

Sirens fail during tornado warning

The 2025 storm season went out with a bang.It just didn’t go out with a roar of a siren.The storm system that brought Kingfisher County more than two inches of rain in some spots also delivered a tornado warning.

LaWanna Christian, 84, was born in Kingfisher on July 21, 1940. She passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, at home on the farm she helped build with her husband, George, in Kingfi sher County.After several months in hospice care, she left this world in the place she loved most.
