Pioneer reopens all cellular, business office locations

All Pioneer Telephone and Pioneer Cellular business office and store locations reopened last Tuesday, the cooperative announced. Pioneer joined the Keep Americans Connected Pledge on March 16 and immediately suspended disconnects and late payment fees.

Kingfisher County Farm Bureau awards $500 scholarships to 6 local seniors

Kingfisher County Farm Bureau presented scholarships to six graduating seniors in the Class of 2020. Scholarships in the amount of $500 were awarded to Ryan Baker of Cashion; Emily Evans and Skye Simunek of Hennessey; and Clayton Abercrombie, Keaton Abercrombie and Harrison Themer of Kingfisher.

TSET program seeks to protect youth on World No Tobacco Day

A program of the Oklahoma Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET) is encouraging Oklahomans to take part in World No Tobacco Day. Tobacco Stops With Me, the TSET program, is pushing a number of initiatives on Sunday, May 31, and beyond.

William ‘Bill’ Wilson

William “Bill” Wilson of Kingfisher was born Aug. 27, 1958, to Ernest Wilson and Ruth (Tucker) Wilson in Oklahoma City. He passed away May 25, 2020, at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital at the age of 61. Bill was raised in Choctaw and lived in Edmond and then Kingfisher. He married Karen Hottel on Aug.

Wanda Fuqua

Wanda N. Fuqua, 81, Kingfisher, passed away at her home Tuesday, May 26, 2020. Services are 1 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at Pleasant Home Baptist Church in Prague with Nathan Howard officiating. Wanda was born Nov. 24, 1938, in Crow to William A. and Vera Mae (Idlett) Fitch.

Eric Ellis

Eric Eugene Ellis died May 25, 2020, at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at Huber-Benson Funeral Home in El Reno with Deacon John Teague officiating.
