A private family service for Barbara Jane Wheeler Yeoman, 88, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 11, in front of Oak Grove Church officiated by Ronnie Horn. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home, Hennessey.

A dozen Kingfisher High School seniors will add their names to the list of State FFA Degree recipients this year. The Oklahoma FFA Association recently announced 826 seniors earned their degree this year. Kingfisher’s 12 recipients is the most of any program.

As the state is beginning to loosen its restrictions on gatherings, Kingfisher High School has made plans to move forward with a traditional graduation ceremony. The district’s board of education agreed at its regular May meeting Monday night for a ceremony to be held at 10 a.m.

A divided Supreme Court decision announced on Monday eliminates the requirement that mail-in absentee ballots be notarized. But by Tuesday, the State Legislature already was drafting legislation to undo the court ruling, House Majority Leader Mike Sanders (R-Kingfisher) said.
