More rain dampens harvest

Additional rain Thursday and Thursday night threw a kink in Kingfisher County’s wheat harvest.Showers beginning Thursday afternoon held combines out of the fields, then additional moisture overnight further jinxed growers’ hopes to gather the ripening crop.

Okarche promotes 29 eighth graders

Okarche Public Schools’ eighth grade promotion took place May 8 near the end of the annual awards assembly. The class of 29 accepted their certificates, and the 10 valedictorians and two salutatorians were recognized.
