Four local blood drives planned

The Oklahoma Blood Institute has four blood drives planned in Kingfisher County during the first 10 days of June. Scheduled blood drives are: • June 3 at First Christian Church of Kingfisher, 102. S. 7th St., 1:30-5 p.m. • June 4 at Countrywood Assisted Living Center, 1604 S. 13th St.

Wilczek receives doctorate from LU

Troy Louis Wilczek, son of Stanley and Cindy Wilczek, graduated May 18 from Langston University with a doctorate in physical therapy. A 2012 graduate of Lomega High School, he earned his bachelor’s in health education and promotion from Oklahoma State University prior to pursuing his doctorate.

Hennessey kindergarten Students of Today at the Early Childhood Development Center for 2019 are Charlee Walker and Wade Worthan. They were presented their awards May 10 by Mason Jack Painter. The students were chosen for their good citizenship and willingness to help others.

OSU’s Gerken is NLC scholarship recipient

Madelyn Anne Gerken of Kingfisher, currently a student at Oklahoma State University, has been awarded a $2,000 scholarship from the National Livestock Companies consisting of National Livestock Credit Corporation and National Livestock Commission Association.
