Faye Etta Hawkins Strain passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025, with her husband laying by her side and her son Rodney holding her hand and many other family members by her side.She was born April 24, 1946, to Floyd and Vivian Hawkins in Kingfisher.

KHS soccer girls 3rd at Weatherford

Kingfisher wrapped up third place in the Weatherford Eagles Classic for the second straight year on Saturday.The Lady Jackets downed Cordell 6-2 on Saturday afternoon to earn the third place plaque. That came after splitting matchups on Friday.

A trio of one-goal matches saw the Kingfisher High School boys finish fourth over the weekend at the Weatherford Eagles Classic soccer tournament. Eduardo De La Torre scored the game winner Friday afternoon in Kingfisher’s 3-2 victory over Purcell in the quarterfinals.

Kingfisher’s Snider, Cashion’s Shafer named OGBCA All-State

Two Kingfisher County basketball players will represent their respective schools at least one more time.Kingfisher’s Raegan Snider and Cashion’s Megan Shafer were named to the Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association All-State teams after tryouts last week.

Harrison, Reagan pick up top 10 finishes at WAC

Myles Harrison and Cale Reagan garnered all-conference honors while Kingfisher finished third as a team Monday in the Western Athletic Conference Golf Tournament.Harrison was fifth individually and Reagan placed ninth with their rounds at Prairie West Golf Club in Weatherford.

BASEBALL UPDATE – Kingfi sher dropped both of its games last week in the I-40 Classic Baseball Festival. They were defeated 12-4 Thursday against Clinton on the Red Tornadoes’ home fi eld. On Friday, the Jackets trekked to Weatherford to take on Jones.

Okarche’s slow pitch softball team reached the semifinals of the Enid Pacer Tournament over the weekend before suffering its first loss of the season. The Lady Warriors won their first two games of the tournament 9-7 against Chisholm and 11-4 over Timberlake last Thursday.
