Okarche Elementary School recently joined the nationwide celebration of Read Across America Week, an initiative aimed at fostering a love for reading among students.

KHS, Crooked Oak split on the pitch

Two newcomers scored all five goals - including a hat trick by a freshman - as the Kingfisher girls soccer team grabbed its first win of the season.Yesenia Rivera scored all three of her goals in the second half as KHS pulled away from Crooked Oak for a 5-0 win at home on Tuesday.

Ott voted Cherokee Strip MVP

Hadley Ott was named the Most Valuable Player of the Cherokee Strip Conference for 2024-25.The Lomega junior was voted for the honor by the conference’s coaches.

Jackets still searching for first district win

The most recent series still has the Kingfisher High School baseball team seeking its first district win.The Jackets were dealt losses of 8-2 and 11-1 by Bishop McGuinness on Monday and Tuesday as they fell to 0-4 in District 4A-4.KHS was 1-8 overall after Tuesday’s six-inning loss at home.

Eagles golfers take 3rd at Pioneer Invitational

Hennessey took third place as a team and two county golfers were among the top 10 Tuesday at the Pioneer Mustang Invitational boys golf tournament.Eagle senior Taylor Ladwig fired an 8-over-par 79 to tie for fourth individually among 72 golfers in the field at Meadowlake Golf Club in Enid.

Snider 3rd, team 4th in girls golf opener at Cedar Valley

Despite a not-so-stellar finish, Raegan Snider still put together a solid round in the Kingfisher High School girls opening golf tournament of 2025.Snider shot an 89 to place third in the John Marshall Girls Tournament held at Cedar Valley Golf Club in Guthrie.

BOMBS AWAY!!!

Okarche’s slow pitch softball team may not have been cleared for landing, but was certainly cleared for takeoff Thursday. Six Lady Warriors combined to hit nine home runs as Okarche went 3-0 in pool play of the Enid Slow Pitch Softball Tournament.
