Basketball tournament roundup for Kingfisher County teams

Five Kingfisher County schools were taking part in tournaments beginning Thursday of last week.Here’s how those teams fared in their opening rounds: Alva Shootout Top-seeded Kingfisher had little trouble advancing to the semifinals of the boys bracket of the Alva Shootout.

Dover makes quick work of Cov-Doug

Short-handed Dover got the hot hand from Rylee Buck on Tuesday.Buck scored 22 points as the Lady Longhorns downed Covington-Douglas 46-28 in Dover.The home team was without starter Kynlee Boeckman, who was out due to sickness.

Incinerator, flood control among top city topics

City commissioners on Monday approved the purchase of an incinerator for the disposal of animals at the city’s animal shelter.The cost was $17,900 to replace the existing one that had been donated several years ago.That incinerator no longer worked and could not be repaired.
