Rotary Club hosts pair of KHS seniors

Two Kingfisher High School seniors were guests recently at a meeting of the Kingfisher Rotary Club.Joining the local civic group were Hubert Haag and Alondra Ortega.Haag is the son of Mack Haag and Tony Haag.He’s active in football, wrestling, baseball and FFA.

Voter registration deadline nears

Friday, Dec. 20, is the last day to apply for voter registration in order to be eligible to vote in the Jan. 14, 2025, special election in Kingfisher.The election is to extend a one-half cent sales tax for 10 years in order to help fund the construction of a new fire department.

KHS names November Students of the Month

Kingfisher High School has named its Students of the Month for November 2024.Students are chosen based on many characteristics including responsibility, leadership, work ethic, reliability, kindness and more.

Marjorie Kremeier

Marjorie Lee Kremeier, 93, passed away peacefully on Dec. 3, 2024, in Oklahoma City.She was born Aug. 23, 1931, in Berryville, Ark., to Gurn Hull and Edna (Anglin) Hull.Marjorie was greatly loved by her family and many lifelong friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Ronnie ‘Wayne’ Foster

Ronnie Wayne Foster, born July 24, 1943, passed peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024, in Alva after complications from congestive heart failure led to a short hospital stay.A memorial service and interment will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at Duncan Memorial Cemetery.

Reese pieces together solid debut

There were several known pieces of this version of the Kingfisher High School girls basketball team that gave outsiders optimism about the upcoming season.There are also a couple of unknown pieces, one of them being newcomer Reese Roof.
