Hennessey United board picks cowboy hat colors, discuss upcoming events

The colors for the big cowboy hat at Casey’s north of the U.S. Highway 81 and State Highway 51 intersection were decided, but those colors have not been officially announced by the Hennessey United Board of Directors.Ron Arter with Eagle Painting took a color chart to the United board’s Jan.

Heavy snow and frigid temperatures locked down much of Kingfisher County over the weekend.Local Weather Observer Steven Loftis recorded 9 inches of snow at the National Weather Service station in Kingfisher.Similar recordings were reported at other area locations.

Kingfisher’s dominant week continued Thursday night.And it also ended. The Lady Jackets beat a foe by 30-plus points for the third time in as many days and earned the right to play for their sixth consecutive Buckle of the Wheatbelt Invitational championship.
