Jackets’ Browning signs to wrestle with Hastings College

Gant Browning made his move to the next level official on Wednesday. The Kingfisher High School senior signed to continue his wrestling career at Hastings College in Hastings, Neb. The signing was done during a ceremony in the KHS commons as he was joined by family members - including his parents Mistie and Donnie Browning - teammates, classmates and coaches. Browning wasn’t just a four-year starter for KHS, he reached state all four seasons. He took fourth at 126 pounds during his junior season, becoming the first KHS wrestler to place at state in five years. He qualified for state at 132 as a senior and completed that year with a 36-7 record. Browning was 115-40 during his four-year career and earlier this month was named to the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State team. Also on hand for the signing was Hastings Head Coach Trey Heckadon. [Photos by Andrew Green and Myles Harrison/KHS Photography]
