Okarche ag issues team addresses Lions Club

Okarche FFA’s ag issues team gave a presentation recently to the Kingfisher Lions Club that the program’s members will take to contest later this month. It was on the pros and cons of the Prime Act of 2017, which has not yet come before the U.S. House of Representatives for a vote. The act is centered on allowing more local control on the community and state level for processing and butchering of meat, including reducing the federal Food and Drug Administration’s control over inspection of producers’ meats that do not leave the state. Pictured is Okarche FFA adviser Cody Dean, far right, with his team members, from left: Tori Jo Spomer, Tyson Endres, Jalie Rother, Amanda Carranza, Jaycee Taylor and Jasmin Barcenas.
