The Lomega Lady Raiders continued to add to their storied legacy Saturday when they defeated Kiowa 67-60 in the Class B state championship at State Fair Arena. It was the program’s 15th state championship, four more than any other girls program in Oklahoma. It’s Lomega’s second straight title and the seventh for head coach Kevin Lewallen. This year’s group made history within its own program as well. The team finished the year 27-0, becoming the fourth Lomega team to go undefeated en route to a title. However, this was the school’s first 5-on-5 girls team to accomplish the feat. The other undefeated teams (1983, 1987 and 1991) played 6-on-6.
