Kingfisher Tree Board aiding recovery

Kingfisher Tree Board Officers Neal Brown and Brian Walter, center and second from left, were joined by volunteers Pat Cheap, second from right, and Jeff Minnis, far left, to cut and clear the broken tree limbs from the Kingfisher Post Office Thursday evening. Also pictured is Kingfisher Postmaster Gary Townsend, who came out to thank them for their efforts. Walter and Brown said this was only the beginning of a community service effort by the tree board and volunteers until Kingfisher’s trees are once again in good shape and the sidewalks and open areas of the community are clear. “We’re gathering again Sunday afternoon, so anyone that wants to help is certainly welcome and appreciated,” Walter said. He asked that anyone interested in helping call either him or Brown. For information on how to help your trees best recover from storm damage, see the Tree Board’s ad on Page 7.
