Read moreChisholm Trail Technology Center com peted Feb. 14 in the Division SkillsUSA contest for Automotive Service Technology. These four students won the local contest held at CTTC, with three high school students and one adult being chosen to move on to division contest at Fairview. They competed against technology centers from Enid, Alva, Fairview, Woodward and Ponca City. Kaden Mueggenborg (top photo) of Kingfisher placed first in the high school category and Kevin Suarez (bottom photo) of Hennessey placed third in the adult category. Since the topthree competitors move on to the state contest, both students will represent CTTC at state in April. Also from CTTC, Gannon Grubs of Watonga placed fourth in high school, just missing the cutoff, but still earning a ribbon and some free tools. At state contest, Suarez and Mueggenborg will be competing with students from every technology center in Oklahoma. Their instructor, Coty Green, who just began his second year, said he is excited at the prospect to compete. “I’m a product of the OKCTE system and I know there’s a lot of value in these competitions that SkillsUSA puts on,” said Green. “I’m proud of the hard work all my students put in, and we’re going to do our best to be prepared for state.” [Photos provided]
