Brenda Joyce Hertensen, 82, of Kingfisher, passed peacefully on June 3, 2025.

She was born on Dec. 19, 1942, in Beaumont, Texas,to Arthur Deward Brown and Helen Louise Brown (née Conway).

Brenda devoted her life to family, faith and service. She retired from Kingfisher Public Schools where she spent many years serving in the cafeteria.

Her warm smile and kind spirit left a lasting impression on generations of students and staff.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, brothers Butch and Robert, and her cherished daughter, Janet Snow.

Her memory lives on in the hearts of her loving husband, Terry Hertensen; their sons Larry Hertensen and wife Heidi, Cletus Hertensen and wife Rhonda, Ronny Hertensen and Shawn Hertensen and wife Elizabeth; as well as within the heart of her sister, Diane Hill.

Brenda was a proud grandmother to Brandy Coulson and husband Greg, Terri Ronne and husband Jacob, Heather Slane and husband Perry, Levi Hertensen, Megan Gibilisco and husband Will, Dustin Hertensen and wife Ashley, Chelsea Snyder and husband Matthew, Cterling Snow and wife Nicki, Collin Hertensen, Keegan Hertensen, Cori and Tosh Beauchamp, Brandi and Jason Able and Dustin Rash. She was also blessed with a number of great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy.

A vigil service will be held at 5 p.m Sunday, June 8, at Sanders Funeral Service Chapel in Kingfisher.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 9, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church followed by burial at Kingfisher Cemetery, under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.

The family requests that memorial donations in Brenda’s name be made to Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 309 S. Main Street, Kingfisher, OK 73750 Brenda will be remembered for her generous heart, unwavering faith and the deep love that she had for her family.

She will be missed dearly and remembered always.
