Delbert Ray Spomer, 68, of Okarche, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026, in Canton.

Born on April 20, 1958, in Enid, he was the child of Delbert Bill Spomer and Vera Marlatt.

Ray attended Ringwood High School and graduated in 1976. He went on to have a fulfilling career of 50 years in the oil field, retiring in 2025.

Ray’s passion for the oil field allowed him to share his wisdom, knowledge and stories of past oil field experiences with his friends and family on many occasions.

Beyond his oil field career, Ray was known for spending time with family and friends attending his children’s activities from basketball and baseball games to junior rodeo, barrel races and stock shows.

Ray enjoyed attending the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas with friends and family for several years.

Ray liked going hunting, camping and exploring the trails on their side by side. Ray recently became interested in coin collecting and sharing the information he had researched.

He is survived by his loving spouse of 29 years, Sandra Spomer; children, Corey Spomer (Connie), Brian Spomer (Kristy), Skylar Hamm (Ty) and Tori Spomer; his siblings, Della Geiger, Dale Spomer, Wanda Newman and Lee Spomer; grandchildren, Terry Archer, Ben Spomer, Joseph Spomer, Reid Spomer, Payton Spomer, Wyatt Hamm and Garrett Hamm and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father Delbert Bill Spomer, mother Vera Marlatt, mother-inlaw Linda Lee Kremeier, brother Wesley Spomer and brothers-in-law Mark Geiger, Travis Kremeier and Randy Newman.

A celebration of life service was at 10 a.m.

Saturday, July 25, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Okarche.

Services were under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home, El Reno.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church and Kingfi sher Round-Up Club.
