David Kuehn
David Joel Kuehn was born June 4, 1957, to Herman and Margaret Kuehn.
He passed away suddenly on Monday, Oct. 5, 2026. Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 10, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro, Texas. Burial followed at Hillcrest Garden of Memory Cemetery, Hillsboro.
Dave enlisted in the United States Army in 1975 at the age of 17 and proudly served his country for six years. Following his honorable discharge in 1981, he became a member of the American Legion.
Although his military service had ended, his love, pride and respect for the military never faded.
Dave pursued a career as a lineman, beginning his journey with Cimarron Electric in Kingfisher.
Along the way, he formed countless friendships while working toward becoming a journeyman lineman, building lifelong bonds with those who worked alongside him.
His dedication to helping others extended far beyond his everyday work. When natural disasters struck, Dave was among the linemen called upon to restore power to devastated communities.
While others were fleeing the destruction and danger, Dave and his fellow linemen were heading straight into the storm.
He took great pride in his work, knowing that his efforts helped families and communities begin putting their lives back together.
For Dave, being a lineman was more than just a job. It was a way to help others when they needed it most.
Outside of work, Dave had a lifelong passion for hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. He enjoyed the peace and freedom that came with spending time in nature, whether he was hunting, casting a line or simply taking in the beauty of the outdoors.
Dave had a stubborn streak, but he also had a generous heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Above all, he treasured the time he spent with his wife, Teresa. They were not only husband and wife, but also the very best of friends.
Whether they were watching old westerns, visiting with one another or simply enjoying each other’s company, it was the little moments together that meant the most.
They found comfort, happiness and a sense of belonging in one another. He was her home and she was his.
Dave leaves behind a lifetime of love, cherished memories and lasting friendships. Though he will be greatly missed, the love he shared, the lives he touched and the memories he created will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Dave was a proud father of four and will be deeply missed by his loving wife and best friend, Teresa, his three surviving children, his beloved grandchildren and his many friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Cantrell, whose memory remained forever in his heart.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sherry Brown.
