Christine Kuelzer

Christine Ann Kuelzer, 89, of Kingfisher, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Christine was born at the family home near Okarche on June 11, 1936, to Alphons and Emma (Huck) Mueggenborg.

She graduated from Holy Trinity Catholic School and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma.

Christine married Kermit Charles Kuelzer on July 20, 1954, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Okarche. Together, they raised two daughters, Mary and Carol, on the Kuelzer Centennial Farm located east of Kingfisher.

Christine was a homemaker, raising chickens and selling eggs, gardening, sewing and helped Kermit with the farming. Once the girls got older, she worked at Big Four School as the school secretary.

She later went to work for Pioneer Telephone, retiring in 2001.

Christine was a constant support when it came to caring for the grandchildren.

Christine and Kermit moved from the farm to Kingfisher in 1987 where she was a member of the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and Altar Society.

She was a member of Happy Homemakers EHG, Kingfisher County 4-H adult leader and Central Oklahoma Quilters Guild.

She enjoyed traveling, pitch club and hosting several foreign exchange students. Christine was an avid quilter, exhibiting her prize-winning quilts at county, state and international venues.

Christine is survived by her daughters, Mary Chamberlain and husband John of Cypress, Texas, and Carol Wilczek and husband Edward of Kingfisher; grandchildren Brad Chamberlain and partner Keith Sartin, Kelli Chamberlain Makohon and husband Michael, Justin Wilczek and wife Katie, Blake Wilczek and wife Alicia and Jessica Wilczek; great-grandchildren Molly and Nolan Makohon and Claire and Declan Wilczek; her sister, Caroline Chambers; brother, Harold Mueggenborg and wife Theresa; and beloved nieces and nephews.

Christine was preceded in death by husband Kermit; her parents; her siblings Charles Mueggenborg, Donald Mueggenborg and wife Rita; brother-in-law Edward Kuelzer and his wife Doris and brothers-in-law Tom Barrett and Gordon Chambers.

Visitation for Christine will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Sanders Funeral Service.

A wake service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Kingfisher.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 26, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, followed by burial at Kingfisher Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.
