Clara Hope Henderson
Clara Hope Henderson was born at 10:55 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.
She weighed 3 pounds and 1 ounce.
She peacefully went into the healing arms of Jesus shortly after.
Clara was the daughter of Drew and Tara Henderson.
She is survived by her parents and her big brother Nolan James Henderson, her paternal grandparents Brian and Carla Henderson, maternal grandparents Randall and Sandy Newton, uncle Regan and aunt Natalie Henderson, uncle Grant and aunt Kaci Newton, cousins Sylvie and Gabe Newton, great-grandmother Carol Neundorf (Kingfisher), great-grandparents Kay and O.A. Garr (Piedmont), great-grandparents Clark and Joyce Newton (Cleo Springs), along with a host of great-aunts, great-uncles and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents Gene and Iris Henderson and great-grandfather Lloyd Neundorf.
Clara’s fatal diagnosis was known from early in pregnancy. Still, she continued to grow in the hearts of her family as she grew to term in her mother’s womb.
She defied many odds, living longer and developing in ways that were unexpected for a baby with her anomalies.
As a result, Clara even donated her heart valves becoming an answered prayer for other babies.
She lived up to her namesake, leaving her family with a “clear hope” of her complete healing in the arms of Jesus. Her family has been forever changed by her short life and left with an eternal longing for their heavenly reunion with their baby girl.
Tara and Drew wish to invite all family, community members and friends to hear more about Clara’s story at her memorial service.
This will occur at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, in the Crossings Community Church Chapel on North Portland in Oklahoma City.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Abel Speaks organization.
This organization has intimately served the Hendersons as they have walked through the journey of carrying Clara and continues to do so for other families across the globe walking a similar path.
Donations can be made in Clara’s honor at their website: abelspeaks.org.
