Clarence Edward “Eddie” Pryor, 95, passed away Dec, 1, 2021, at his home in Hennessey surrounded by family.

Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 6, at 132 Bible Church. Burial followed at Hennessey Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.

Eddie was born in Shamrock, Texas, on Aug. 20, 1926, to Clarence Pryor and Annie Guyton. He attended school in Happy, Texas.

He entered the U.S. Army in 1945 and served during World War II in Germany and France. He was honorably discharged when the war ended.

Eddie married Joyce Ann Clark on July 15, 1964, in Perryton, Texas. To this marriage two children were born, one daughter, Arlinda Jill Vincent, and one son, Martin Sean Pryor.

Eddie was self employed all his life and owned multiple businesses.

He served as mayor of Hennessey from 1979 to 1981 and was on the town board several years prior to that.

He was also on the board of directors at Twin Lakes in Crescent for many years.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

He is survived by his children, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
