Dana Marlene Shilling of Tecumseh passed away unexpectedly on June 11, 2021.

Dana was born on Jan. 7, 1936, to Coats and Frances Briscoe in Marlow. She grew up in Bray and Marlow.

Dana met the love of her life, Carol D. Shilling, and married him in May 1952.

She moved with him and their two children to Arizona in the late 1950’s.

In the 1960’s, Dana worked alongside her father at the South Mountain Gin in Laveen, Ariz.

In 1979, Dana and Carol opened a steel fabrication business where they worked side by side until retiring in 1997 and moved back to their home state of Oklahoma.

They lived in Kingfisher for 20 years before moving to Tecumseh.

Dana was an exceptional seamstress, fantastic cook (made the best cinnamon rolls), loved to cross stitch and loved puzzles.

She loved watching Hallmark movies and listening to classic country music.

She loved being a grandmother.

She had a smile that would light up the room and a laugh that was contagious.

Dana was predeceased by her son Carol D. Shilling, Jr.; her parents Coats and Frances Briscoe; her brothers Jerry and Lenard Briscoe; and her sisters Judy Chavez and Kay Damiano.

She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Carol D. Shilling; her daughter Nansi (Don); her son, Allen (Susan); grandchildren Tiffany Shilling, Erika Hinton, Charles Shilling, Trevor Fisher and Krystal Beck; 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; her brother Randy (Jamie) Briscoe and sister Linda (Richard) Kenney; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dana was much loved and will be greatly missed.

Private memorial services were held June 19.
