Geneva Pauline “Polly” (Horner) Hall passed away July 5, 2022. She was 76.

Polly was born Oct. 7, 1945, in Chandler to Stella (Taber) and Vester Horner.

Her parents were humble, hard-working Christians who preached the word of God in a non-denominational church in Kingfisher.

An only child until age 13, Polly, as everyone knew her, became a big sister to her beloved sister Mary.

Polly was married at age 15 to Larry Hamil, Sr.

From this marriage her first two sons were born, Larry Hamil, Jr., or JR, and Lester Hamil.

The two divorced soon after.

Polly met the love of her life, James “Jim” Hall, and married him on Dec. 31, 1964.

To their union, three more sons were born: Dickie, James and Jessie. Polly and Jim later helped raise a grandson, Tyler Hall.

Although she dropped out of Kingfisher High School to start a family, Polly later earned her GED and went back to technical school to become a licensed cosmetologist.

She had her own beauty shop in Kingfisher for a period of time and enjoyed working with the public.

She was a member of Frontline Ministries of Kingfisher and attended until she moved to live with her son James as her health declined.

She attended Tryon Christian Union Church up until her death.

Polly enjoyed people and hated being alone. She never met a stranger and was a ferocious champion of her family.

She enjoyed country music, dancing, car rides, playing cards or dominoes and having fun with family and friends.

Polly was preceded in death by both parents as well as many uncles, aunts and cousins.

Polly is survived by her husband of Kingfisher; her sister Mary Barrett of Kingfisher; all five sons, JR (Rosanna) Hamil of Kingfisher, Lester (Melissa) Hamil of Kingfisher, Dickie (Lori) Hall of Watonga, James (Regina) Hall of Perkins and Jessie Hall of Kingfisher.

She is also survived by 19 grandchildren: Jeremy (Brandi) Hamil, Curtis (Rachel Ramming) Hamil, Kristen (Tyler) McCann, Chadley (Megan) Hamil, Anjelica (Michael) Newcomer, Kayla (Casey Cardin) Hamil, Amanda Hall, Tyler Hall, Jonathan (Shaleen) Cleary, Zach (Kendra) Hall, Katherine (Kathan) Trivedi, Logan (Erin) Hall, Michael (Jennifer) Hall, Jessie “JJ” Hall, Toby Emery, Tanner Emery, Tara Emery and Alayna Hall along with 29 great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements provided by Dighton-Marler Funeral Home, 5106 N. Washington, Stillwater, with visitation from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 17.

Memorial service is 10 a.m. Monday, July 18, at Frontline Ministries in Kingfisher with burial following at Kingfisher Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Cushing Senior Citizens Center in c/o Dighton-Marler Funeral Home.

Special thanks to the staff at Fresenius Kidney Center in Stillwater, Cimarron Medical, Karman Legacy Hospice, Stillwater Cancer Center and Tryon Christian Union Church.
