George David Garlett, 90, a longtime resident of Dover, passed away on Oct. 20, 2021, in Stillwater.

George proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for several years during WWII.

He also worked many years on the Rock Island Railroad as a welder and a welder supervisor.

George was an avid fisherman who also loved to hunt and enjoy the outdoors.

He had a great sense of humor and always knew how to make you laugh with his witty comments.

He captured the hearts of many people during his lifetime.

George is survived by his daughter Anna Piper, of Wichita, Kan., daughter Betty Garlett, of Oklahoma City, daughter Carolyn Oxendine and husband Joey of Dover, and daughter Dorothy Richardson of Stillwater; his 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; and his sister Jerri.

He was preceded in death by his beautiful bride Edith; his mother Anna Garlett; father Charles Garlett; brothers Neil, Don, Raymond and Bob; and sisters Nadine and Pauline.
