George Dean Rayburn
George Dean Rayburn was born on April 26, 2010, at Kingfisher Regional Hospital.
He was 15 years old and an eighth grader at Okarche Public Schools.
George loved playing baseball, hanging out with friends and family and enjoyed all types of music. He also collected different kinds of knives, played various video games and enjoyed board and card games.
Additionally, he had a passion for motorcycles, as well as anything related to the ocean and dinosaurs.
He attended Okarche First Baptist Church and loved the Lord.
George was a very kind and loving person who would help anyone with anything. He is described by others who knew him as an old soul in a young body. On Feb. 4, 2025, he was diagnosed with AML Leukemia with FLT3 wild gene mutation. He had three chemotherapy sessions lasting about 23 days in the hospital each time.
George went into the hospital on June 10 for his final treatment and transplant. He received his new bone marrow transplant on June 18.
Everything was going well when he was moved to the ICU on July 11 due to complications from the chemo and transplant.
George fought with everything he had for a week, but finally succumbed to his illness on July 19, 2025, at 10:11 a.m.
He was surrounded by family and a loving hospital staff.
George is survived by his father and stepmother, Dean Eric and Tarah Rayburn; mother and stepfather, Dustie Dahn and Greg Milanic; brothers Preston and Darren Rayburn; his sister Julia Rayburn; stepbrothers Brayden Stangl and Brayden Milanic; stepsisters Britney Dutton and husband Bowen and Kylie Shepard and husband Lucky; and many aunts, uncles and loved ones.
Visitation will be held at Sanders Funeral Service Chapel from 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 24.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Okarche at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26.
