Jase Parker Bollenbach was born in Enid on Sept. 4, 2013. He left us in his sleep on April 16, 2022, at his home in Oklahoma City, where he spent most of his of time with the ones who loved him dearly. He was just 8 years old.

Jase, we love you, baby boy.

We are so proud of who you were and of all that you accomplished in your short time here on earth.

You were born with a special ability, a magical power to transform strangers into friends and frowns into smiles. You were a true superhero – so strong and brave.

Your superpower was LOVE! People gravitated towards you. You never met a stranger. And you brightened the world just by being in it.

You never complained, when honestly you had every reason to. You took whatever curve balls life threw at you and never let it stop you from doing what you wanted to do.

And no matter what you faced, you thought of others before yourself. You had a genuine care and concern for others.

If it would have been possible, you would have fed every homeless person you saw. You would have given every toy you owned to kids who had none.

You wanted to be rich when you grew up; not for you, but so that you could give it away to people in need.

You never knew just how many people your life and story impacted, but all were changed for the better by you.

We all watched in awe as you fought hard for life, never losing that smile, that special laugh or that never-give-up attitude.

Your love for life was massive. And you were loved – loved so very much by all, but especially by your mom, who was honored to be by your side throughout your journey and who learned as much from you as you learned from her.

We are grateful for the many doctors, nurses, child life specialists, hospital social workers, therapists and the dialysis unit team for working tirelessly to try to cure you of childhood cancer – that ugly, nasty monster that leaves a path of destruction and kills children.

We will continue to fight with the help of others to find a cure until no child is robbed of their childhood, no other sibling loses their best friend and no parent ever again has to bury their baby.

Jase, you fought one hell of a fight and may have lost the battle with cancer on this earth, but you ultimately won.

You are free of cancer at last – no more boo boos, no more chemo, no more pills, no more dialysis and no more pain.

Jase, we know you are playing your favorite game of tag with your big brother in heaven and that thought is the only way we are getting through this difficult time.

We love you baby boy, more than words can ever express.

You will forever be in our hearts until we meet again.

Jase leaves behind with broken hearts his mom, Shannon and bonus dad, Curtis Johnson; his father, Baily Bollenbach; grandparents, Kurt and Jackie Peterson, Memaw Peggy Bollenbach, and Steve and Melanie Bollenbach; sister Ryann Bollenbach; Great-Grammy and Grumpy Tim and Karen Peterson; great-grandparents George and Jennie Holt; uncle and aunt Drew and Rebecca Bollenbach; cousins Ellie and Blake Bollenbach; and countless other cousins, aunts and uncles, and a multitude of friends who all loved you dearly and will miss you dearly. Viewing is 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
