Memorial service for John Deutschendorf, 74, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11, at Dover Christian Church officiated by Pastor Phillip Wilson.

Cremation arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.

John was born in Cordell on Sept. 7, 1947, to Fred and Vera Heidebrecht Deutschendorf and died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2021, at his home in Hennessey.

He married Linda Weir on May 18, 1968.

The family moved to Hennessey in 1981.

John worked in the oilfield for a brief time building disposal sites.

He then started Hennessey Metal Buildings and built metal buildings in Oklahoma and surrounding states until his retirement.

John is survived by his wife Linda of the home; two sons, Scott Deutschendorf and wife Teresa of Fairview, Joe Deutschendorf and wife Danielle of Pflugerville, Texas; one daughter, Teresa Hugaboom and husband Damian of Hennessey; seven grandchildren, Bailey Coppock and husband Nick, Braden Deutschendorf, Quinn Deutschendorf and wife Jane, Devin Deutschendorf, Hilary Hugaboom, Gage Hugaboom, Zane Hugaboom and Callie Seiger; and one sister, Phyllis Wipf.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Don Wipf.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to Dover Christian Church Missionaries with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
