After a long, courageous, faith-filled battle against cancer, Lanita Janell Curtis went to Heaven on Friday, July 8, 2022, in Oklahoma City with her loving husband by her side.

Her passing came three weeks after the tragic loss of her daughter, Mandy.

Janell was born in Waynoka on Feb. 6, 1959, to Lester and Bernita Ratzlaf Proffitt.

On Feb. 9, 1974, she married Larry Curtis, her best friend and love of her life.

They were married 48 years and raised their two children, Todd and Mandy, in Piedmont.

She served as a substitute teacher in Piedmont when her children were in school.

She worked for JAG for 15 years.

Janell served several churches as bookkeeper for over 25 years. Most recent, she served as office manager/bookkeeper at Frontline Ministries for the past 12 years.

Her handprints of excellence are witnessed all over Frontline Ministries. She led the prayer chain team and missions. She taught the word as needed.

She was a committed and powerful intercessor.

Her focus was never on her battle with cancer; rather, she was about the work of the Kingdom and speaking life and healing over everyone.

Janell was passionate, bold, generous and a warrior for the Kingdom. Her selfless attitude and service to ministry was a true representation servant leadership.

Janell loved to travel with family, camp and fish. She was an avid reader and student of the Bible.
