Leslie Earl “Les” Glazier, 73, Loyal, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021, at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City.

A graveside service was Monday, June 28, at the Forest Home Cemetery with Pastor Fred Jones of Loyal Evangelical Church officiating and under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.

Les was born May 5, 1948, in Kingfisher to Marvin and Eileen (Garms) Glazier.

He graduated from Loyal High School in 1966 and from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford in 1970 with an education/industrials arts degree.

He married Ona Gay Montgomery on June 20, 1969, at the First United Methodist Church in Kingfisher. He was extremely proud that they recently celebrated 52 years of marriage.

After graduating college, Les took a teaching job in Kansas City, Kan.

He quickly realized his passion was back home running a dairy and farming.

He and Ona Gay then moved back to the Loyal area and started a life together farming with his dad Marvin and brothers, Gary and Tom, known around the area as “4G Farms.”

He was happiest working ground, sowing wheat and harvesting. He was a farmer through and through.

Les and Ona Gay had three children - Jenny, Justin and Jon - whom they enjoyed raising and traveling to basketball games, the lake and stock shows.

Most vacations were spent at Keystone Lake where he spent countless hours pulling his kids, nieces and nephews skiing and tubing or at Canton Lake at the annual Walleye Rodeo with family and friends.

Les and Ona Gay were blessed with eight grandchildren: Korie, Karson, Zach, Kade, Jill, Aubree, Kase and Jada.

He was very proud to continue the tradition of supporting the kids by attending their sporting events, stock shows and FFA member auctions. He would even watch live streamed basketball games and stock shows when he couldn’t attend.

Les enjoyed spending time with friends playing pitch and cribbage at the Hitchin Post.

Les was called Festus by some of his closest friends. He was a loyal friend who had a gruff voice and a soft heart. He loved red shirts, red trucks and red tractors.

Les is survived by his wife, Ona Gay of the home; his daughter Jenny Geisler and husband Lorne, their children Zachary Geisler and Aubree Geisler of Loyal; his son Justin Glazier and wife Alisha, their children Korie Glazier of Elgin, Karson Glazier, Kade Shaloy and Kase Glazier of Loyal; his son Jon Glazier and wife Amanda, their daughters Jill Glazier and Jada Glazier of Kingfisher; brother Tom Glazier of Loyal; sister-in-law Barbara Glazier of Loyal; brother-in-law Rex Montgomery and wife Sandy of Yukon; and many nieces and nephews.

Les was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gary Glazier, sister-in-law Cheryl Glazier and brother-in-law Dix Montgomery.
