The funeral for Marella Sue Bell, 77, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday Sept. 23, at First Christian Church of Hennessey officiated by Rev. Ish Engle.

Burial will follow at Hennessey Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.

Sue was born in Hartshorne on Nov. 8, 1943, to George and Belma McMullen Linney and died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at Mercy Hospital Hospice.

Sue married Hershell Bell in Durant in 1968.

Shortly thereafter they moved to Hennessey and Sue taught in the Hennessey Public Schools for 39 years.

She primarily taught fourth grade, but also taught Title 1 reading, seventh and eighth grade reading and in the ESL program.

Sue was a member of First Christian Church and Hennessey Child Study Club.

She is survived by two daughters, Terri Cobble and husband Lonny of Edmond, and Angie Bell of Dover; six grandchildren, Mackenzie Lopez, Zac Cobble, Hailey Cobble, Carly Cobble, Tayler Pryor and Rilynn Mathis; four great-grandchildren, Joey Lopez, Scarlett Lopez, Eva Lopez and Clancee Burum.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters and two brothers.
