Thomas George Sandefur, 86, of Kingfisher, departed this life on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019.

Thomas was born in Kingfisher, on Feb. 4, 1933, to George Adrian Sandefur and Wanda Beryl Sandefur.

He grew up in the Kingfisher area where he attended Big Four High School, from which he graduated in 1951.

Then, on June 28 1952, Thomas married his high school sweetheart, Frances Mae Snodgrass. Thereafter, Thomas attended Oklahoma City University Trade School, before he and Frances established home and raised five children in Kingfi sher.

Thomas was dedicated and precise in his work. For over 50 years he devoted his time to his business, Kingfisher Body and Glass. Thomas also spent countless hours farming wheat and cattle. Still, Thomas found time to give back to his community; he served as a school board member and was a member of the Kingfisher Elks Lodge.

There is no question Thomas’s proudest possession was his family. He gave his family the gift of unconditional love. With his funny, ornery personality he loved to tell stories and make people laugh. He always knew how to lighten the mood or put a smile on someone’s face. Thomas was a kind, gentle, and caring person that was adored by those he knew.

Later in life, he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Long after his first wife passed, he filled his time faithfully attending Dover and Kingfisher High School basketball games to watch his granddaughters play. It was here that he met his second wife, Wanda Lois Clifton. Wanda and Thomas were married on April 10, 2010 and enjoyed their time together after establishing a home in Kingfisher, where they were members of the First Christian Church.

Thomas will be sincerely missed by his wife Wanda. His children, Diana and her husband Tom Sigl of Kingfisher, Jerry Sandefur and his wife Patt of Kingfi sher, Janet and her late husband Charlie Yost of Kingfisher, and his son-in-law, Bill Norman of Kingfisher. His grandchildren Shannon Murray and James Smith of Muskogee, Quinton Cline and his wife Heather of Kingfi sher, Sunny Sigl Bernhardt of Kingfi sher, Katie and her husband Jonathon Mason of San Antonio, Texas, Kara and her husband Greg Brueggen of Okarche, Kortny and her husband Taylor Willms of Kingfi sher, Elizabeth Moore of Copperas Cove, Texas, Danielle and her husband Johnny Phomsopha of Copperas Cove, Texas, Thomas Yost and his wife Bridget of Copperas Cove, Texas, Michelle and her husband Brad Jenkins of Piedmont, Charlie Yost and his wife Tara of Prague, Krista and her husband Russ Teply of Watonga, and Bryant Norman of Yukon. His nephews Bill Sandefur and his wife Melinda of Oregon, Duane Kadavy and his wife Gail of Kingfisher, and Jeff Beutler and his wife Patricia of Cashion. His nieces, Debbie Sandefur of Kingfi sher, Sharon Kadavy of Kingfi sher, and Marilyn Moery and her husband Jim of Edmond.

He will also be missed by the Clifton Family. Shane Clifton and his wife Mandy of Kingfisher, Shari Clifton and Carolyn Mahin of Norman, Chelsea and her husband Bryce Castonguay of Omega, McKenzie and her husband Maverick Squires of Dover, and Lettie and Brennan Clifton of Norman. He will also be missed by all 39 of his great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Mae Sandefur, his parents George Adrian and Wanda Beryl Sandefur, his brother Joseph Adrian Sandefur, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Milton and Nadine Kadavy, and his children, Lori Ann Norman and Daniel Thomas Sandefur.

His funeral service will be held Friday, Dec. 13, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Kingfi sher, Oklahoma with Rev. Russ Brown Officiating. Thomas will then be laid to rest in the Kingfisher Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.

Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church at 102 S. Seventh St., Kingfi sher, 73750.
