Winifred Hoover

Winifred Earlene Hoover was born April 21, 1942, in Enid to Irl Landaker and Blanche Hoisington and passed away peacefully at home on June 16, 2025.

Celebration of life services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, at Hennessey Baptist Church with Jimmy Berkenbile officiating.

Burial will follow in Hennessey Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.

Earlene met Paul Hoover on a blind date on New Year’s Eve and married on May 29, 1958, in Andover, Kan. They moved many times over the years between Oklahoma and Texas and landed in Hennessey in 1976.

Earlene worked at Wacker’s and then Winns in 1978 and then in 1984 began working at Walmart. She worked there for 17plus years and then retired as a bookkeeper at Hoover Trucking.

Earlene is survived by her three children, David Ray and wife Connie, Paula “Susie” and husband Bill and John Henry; three grandchildren, Dale Hoover, Rebecca Williamson and Shawn Crissup; 13 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; and newphew Roger Brady and wife Bonnie.

She was preceded in passing by both parents; her husband; daughter, Roberta; and son, Richard.
