Bertha Teague bracket

Brackets were released last week for the 48th Bertha Frank Teague Mid-America Classic.

The tournament annually features some of the top girls’ basketball teams in the state and is played at East Central University’s Kerr Activity Center in Ada.

This year’s tournament will be played Dec. 29-31 and features two Kingfisher County teams: Kingfisher and Lomega.

There are two teams ranked atop their class and every team in the field is top-eight in their respective class.

The tournament field includes:

• Lomega, No. 1 in B-II

• Kiowa, No. 2 in B-I

• Howe, No. 2 in 2A

• Merritt, No. 3 in 2A

• Latta, No. 7 in 2A

• Washington, No. 1 in 3A

• Keys, No. 8 in 3A

• Kingfisher, No. 5 in 4A Kingfisher has already played two teams in the tournament as the Lady Jackets’ two current losses came at the hands of Merritt and Washington.

Monday, Dec. 29

Game 1: Kingfisher vs. Howe, 3 p.m.

Game 2: Merritt vs. Keys,

Game 3: Washington vs. Kiowa, 6:30 p.m.

Game 4: Lomega vs. Latta, 8 p.m.

Tuesday, Dec. 30

Loser 1 vs. Loser 2, 3 p.m.
