Three Lady Raiders scored in double figures Saturday as Lomega’s JV downed Coyle 60-48 to capture the consolation championship of the Mulhall- Orlando Invitational.

However, it was Friday’s win that might have been record setting for the team.

Lomega got its first win of the tournament by thumping Life Christian Academy 98-10.

In the process, the team made an astounding 28 3-pointers, which might be a state record.

“The most I have on my list for a girls’ team is 23, which is the only total I have above 20,” said Chris Wilfong, an Oklahoma high school sports historian who runs the website IWasAtTheGame. com. “So I would definitely entertain input from anyone who knows of more.”

Wilfong had not received a higher number as of press time. He checked the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) record book and the national record for girls was 34.

“And 28 would put Lomega at No. 4 on the list,” said Wilfong.

The highest total Wilfong had for a boys’ team was 29 set by Braggs last January.

The next highest was 27 by Haworth in February 2024.

The Lomega JV team opened the tournament with a 48-35 loss to Union City, which went on to win the title.

Against LCA, the Lady Raiders made 11 first-quarter 3-pointers, five more in the second quarter, eight in the third and four in the fourth.Kyndall Ramer led the way with eight made treys to score 28 points.

Whitney Ramer nailed six of them as part of her 24 points.

Olivia Landreth also made six and scored 22 points.

Claire Myers added five treys for all 15 of her points.

Brayli Walker added two 3-pointers and scored 6 while Gracie Sawyer chipped in a 3-pointer for her 3 points.

Against Coyle, the team made a pedestrian nine treys. The Lady Raiders started the game with a 19-4 run and led 30-11 at the half.

Landreth made four of those 3-pointers and scored 14 points.

Walker added three more and scored 13.

Kyndall Ramer went without a 3-pointer, but led all scorers with 16.

Dover’s girls finished fourth in the tournament.

They started with a 3524 victory over Carney.

That was followed with a 53-27 loss to B-I’s fifthranked Varnum in the semifinals and a 43-30 loss to Mulhall-Orlando in Saturday’s third-place game.

In that win, Dover got off to a fast start by outscoring Carney 15-0 in the first quarter.

Presley Squires led the team with 9 points while Remi Goodwin chipped in 8.
