A final tune-up before the holiday break saw Lomega bring home a 97--31 win from Cherokee last Friday.

However, the Lady Raiders won’t have to wait as long as most teams before playing again.

Lomega’s break is short as it’s taking part in the Bertha-Frank Teague Mid-America Classic on the final three days of the month.

It will take an 11-0 record and the No. 1 ranking in Class B-II in its opening day matchup with Class 2A’s second-ranked Howe.

The Lady Lions figure to provide more defensive resistance than did Cherokee.

Lomega scored at least 21 points in every quarter and made 13 3-pointers.

Thirteen different Lady Raiders scored and seven of them made at least one trey.

Hadley Ott and Jackie Penaran made three apiece.

Penaran finished with 10 points while Ott scored 9.

Reagan Snowden also had one as she led the team with 17 points. She scored 15 in the first half as Lomega built up a 49-18 lead.

Paige Wheeler scored 13 points, including two 3-pointers.

Claire Myers also knocked down two shots from beyond the arc for her 6 points.

Kinsley Fisher added 8 points for the Lady Raiders.

Veronica Castro paced Cherokee with 7 points.
