Tournament roundup for county teams . . .

Following is a roundup of Kingfisher County teams’ results in quarterfi nal action of various tournaments on Thursday. All Friday games were after press time of this edition:

Wheat Capital at Chisholm

Cushing didn’t want to go away, but Kingfisher eventually pulled away for a 59-44 victory in the quarterfinals.

Hayes White and Cash Laird combined for 21 points in the third quarter as the Jackets started to pull away from the Tigers.

White finished with 23 and Laird with 15.

KHS played Chisholm in Friday night’s semifinal.

The Kingfisher girls aren’t playing in the tournament this year due to having played at the Bertha Frank Teague Mid-America Classic.

Three Rivers Conference

The girls bracket saw all three county teams move into the semifinals. The boys? Just one.

That one is top-seeded Okarche, which downed Woodward JV 99-18 to reach the semifinals of the tournament at Watonga.

Okarche was set to play the host Eagles in the semis. Watonga beat Crescent 85-54.

Minco’s boys knocked off Cashion 52-50 in the bottom half of the bracket while Fairview edged Hennessey 50-49. That pitted Cashion against Hennessey in Friday’s consolation semifinal.

The Okarche and Hennessey girls also played each other, but on the winner’s side of the bracket. Hennessey beat Watonga 46-42 in overtime to reach the semifinal while Okarche downed Minco 53-32.

Fourth-seeded Cashion also is in the semis after thumping rival Crescent 61-18. Cashion played Fairview on Friday.

There will be a second meeting between Dover and Lomega this year.

Top-seeded Dover’s boys beat Life Christian Academy 82-37 in the opener. Meanwhile, Lomega beat Coyle 64-49 to set up a showdown with Dover in the semis.

The Dover girls advanced to the semifinal by downing Carney 35-24. They played the No. 1 seed, Varnum om Friday.

Lomega’s JV girls were defeated 58-35 by Union City and played Life Christian in the consolation semifinals.
