A major road reconstruction project is set to begin next week in Kingfisher while a potential hike in utilities was put on hold.City commissioners last Monday awarded a bid for the “pavement improvement project” of a portion of Will Rogers Drive.The bid was awarded to Rudy Construction Co.

Harvest starts briefly, but halted by showers

Wheat harvest got under way in Kingfisher County this week.However, an overnight shower Monday deposited .55 inch of moisture at the National Weather Service Station in Kingfisher, likely delaying a harvest renewal on Tuesday.Elevators in the southern sections of the county were open Monday.

Kale to provide keynote address at annual Memorial Day Service

Chief Warrant Officer Five (Retired) Jim Kale will serve as the guest speaker at Monday’s Memorial Day Service at Kingfisher Cemetery.Kale is past post commander for Kingfisher’s Keith Lowry- Henry Ellyson American Legion Post 5, which annually presents the program at the cemetery.

Cashion’s Roberts picked for choir

Tinley Roberts of the Cashion FFA Chapter was selected to perform at the 100th annual State FFA Convention as part of the 2026 Chorus.Roberts was one of 100 talented FFA members who performed at the convention May 5-6 at the Cox Business Center and BOK Arena in downtown Tulsa.
