Better than par for the course

For much of the past decade, golfers in the spring have been greeted by a new green on the front-nine of the Kingfisher Golf Course. When the hundreds of high school golfers - and those of the recreational sort - visit this spring, they will be welcomed by different kinds of improvements.

Three county towns have higher March sales tax

Kingfisher, Okarche and Loyal had sales tax increases in March compared to March 2025. The March distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission primarily represents local tax receipts from February business.

Beneficial rains finally return

Possible crop-saving rains fell across much of Kingfisher County Wednesday evening and overnight. Amounts ranged from .15 inch southwest of Kingfisher to 3.3 inches in Dover.

The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports: February 7 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer. Officer Jarred Tech took a report of theft from Atwood’s, 1213 S. Main St.

No joke: No burning in Kingfisher County

Kingfisher County Commissioners approved a seven-day burn ban for the county Monday as drought conditions continued to plague the county. The ban was requested by a majority of the county’s fire chiefs.
