Rourke hosts March Farmerettes meeting

The Hennessey Farmerettes met Thursday, March 9, in the home of Lily Rourke who served as hostess and DeDee Krueger as lesson leader.President Dot Miller opened the meeting and Krueger gave a lesson on hobbies and their importance in members’ lives.

County again in ‘extreme drought’

Kingfisher County is in 100% extreme drought mode, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor.In fact, more than half of the state is suffering a prolonged drought with most other areas of the state experiencing unusually dry conditions.

Hennessey may hire 2 to fill Tillman’s former roles

Hennessey’s Board of Trustees discussed hiring a recruiting firm to find a replacement for Town Administrator Tiffany Tillman, who resigned last month.In fact, the possibility of two replacements were discussed at the Thursday, March 9, meeting.

Two mobile home variances OK’d by Hennessey board

Hennessey’s Board of Adjustment made an exception to a 2021 zoning law that prohibits a fiveyear, or older, mobile home being moved onto another property.Miguel Sanchez was granted the variance in a special meeting of the board at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, at Town Hall.
