Months of raucus campaigning draw to a close this week as voters begin casting ballots in the much anticipated 2022 general election.

ACADEMIC STATE CHAMPIONS
The Lomega High School girls cross country team was announced as the 2022 Class 2A academic state champion. The Lady Raiders were recognized during last weekend’s cross country state championship awards ceremony at Edmond Santa Fe High School.
Rotary hosts 4 KHS seniors
The Kingfisher Rotary Club hosted four senior guests last Tuesday from Kingfisher High School.Joining the civic group were Isaiah Medellin, Marta Dominguez, Cayson Marshall and Cannon Marshall.Dominguez is an exchange student from Spain and her host parents are William and Beverley Mc-Cully.
OSSAA offers free admission for military members, guest in 1st round of playoffs
Those who have served or are currently serving in the miltary can take in a high school football game this week free of charge.

LOMEGA ELEMENTARY students are pictured with the pop tabs they collected throughout the month of October. The high school and elementary had a friendly contest of which site could collect the most tabs during the month for the Make a Difference project sponsored by the Student Council.

Storm system moving in
A rain system dropped .06 inch of rain on Kingfisher Friday morning.Heavier amounts fell to the north and west with Fairview receiving 2.0 inches, according to the Mesonet.

Another Eagle Takes Flight
Honored to earn the distinction of Eagle Scout, Jonathan Owens said it’s about the journey. Joining an elite group of only approximately 8 percent of all Boy Scouts, the Kingfi sher High School junior recently achieved the honor which is respected throughout the world.
