A display of blue and white pinwheels was recently placed on the courthouse lawn to raise community awareness of child abuse and neglect in Kingfisher County.The display represents 63 substantiated cases of child abuse or neglect in Kingfisher County during 2021.

Kingfisher had 13 students advance past the recent National Science Bee regional final and will now take part in the national competition.The national championships, hosted by International Academic Competitions, will be staged in Orlando, Fla., in June.

Commissioners hear from child advocates at county meeting

Two advocates for child abuse prevention discussed their work with Kingfisher County commissioners Monday and received their blessing for their efforts in calling attention to the problem locally during April – Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month.
