Methodist church invites all to new playground

Hennessey’s First United Methodist Church will celebrate its completed playground at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 26, with free hot dogs and chips for all. The church is located on East First and Cherokee streets and the playground is across the street west of there.

Kingfisher Bookcase Review Club will meet Monday, March 28, at the Farm Bureau Insurance Building, 117 W. Sheridan Ave., Kingfisher.Dutch treat lunch is $10 and will be served at 11:30 a.m. followed by a presentation by Mary Hampton of Oklahoma City.

Makylah and Matthew Henton of Kingfisher announce the birth of their son, Jhett Hayes Henton.Jhett was born Friday, Feb. 4, 2022.He weighed 9 pounds, 6 ounces and measured 21 1/2 inches.Jhett has one brother, Wyatt Henton.Maternal grandparents are Diane and Wayne Endres of Kingfisher.

Generator, trailers are stolen from Hennessey service yard

Equipment valued at $6,000 was reported stolen from Producers Service Corp., 1100 N. Mitchell Road, in Hennessey.PSO District Manager Randy Lee Kendrick reported the theft at the Hennessey Police Station at 9:42 a.m. Tuesday, March 15.

Hennessey Fire Department reports

Hennessey Fire Department has responded to these calls in recent weeks:Grass fire – Bryan Burch, town employee, reported a grass fire near the dump on Cemetery Road at 10:01 a.m. Feb. 27. Firefighters responded in Rural 1, 2 and 3 brush pumper trucks, and left the scene at 11:23 a.m.

Kingfisher High School’s concert choir advanced to OSSAA state competition for the seventh year in a row with its performance at the district competition March 10 on the campus of Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva.
