Groundbreaking for the new Kingfisher County District 2 offices were held Monday afternoon in Hennessey at the southwest corner of Oklahoma Avenue and South Arapaho Street. The structure is expected to cost about $1 million and will stand where the former Cow Palace was located.

It nearly took Kingfi sher Board of Education members longer to affix their signatures than it did to hold a special meeting Tuesday.The board approved more than $3.7 million in supplemental appropriations in order to finish the 2025-26 fiscal year.

Add another Myers selected to the Oklahoma Agriculture Youth Council.The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry has selected 14 high school seniors from across Oklahoma to serve on the 2026-27 version of the council.Among them was Lomega’s Claire Myers, who will be a senior this fall.

Hennessey’s annual Freedom Fest events will start at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 2, at the football practice field on the northeast corner of Oklahoma Avenue and Mitchell Road.
