Northwestern announces spring 2020 honor rolls

Spring semester honor rolls at Northwestern Oklahoma State University have been announced by the Office of the Executive Vice President. Those on the President’s Honor Roll earned all A’s, or a 4.0 grade point average (GPA), in a minimum of 12 undergraduate or nine graduate hours.

The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports: June 11 - Obtain money/property with false negotiable paper. Officer Travis Gray took a report regarding counterfeit money.

New Hennessey pool attracts 300 a day

Hennessey’s town board hired another lifeguard in a special meeting Thursday morning due to the average daily attendance of 300, said Tiffany Tillman, town administrator. The board hired Grace Curran, a certified lifeguard, Tillman said.

Traffic accidents

The following traffic accident is being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department: June 15, 6:45 a.m. - At 701 N. Main St. Dayne Hargrove, 28, Shamrock, Texas, driving a 2012 Chevrolet, was backing out of a parking space.

Census worker seeks assistance from county

Tricia Woodward of the U.S. Census Bureau asked county commissioners for assistance in getting 2020 census forms completed. Stressing that census numbers are used in apportioning federal funds to states, she said Kingfisher County is lagging behind the national average.

County meets with contractor

Kingfisher County commissioners held a discussion session Thursday with Jerry Wisdom of Total Assessment Solutions Corp. (TASC).

Squires is ag science Star

A recent Kingfisher High School graduate is still pulling in FFA honors. Jentry Squires was recently named the winner of the 2020 State Star in agriscience.
