Kingfisher County Extension has a leader lesson planned this week on “The Benefits of Laughter.” The lesson will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the Extension office.

Kingfisher Rotary Club was host to four Kingfisher High School seniors during a recent meeting. Joining the civic group at a Tuesday luncheon were Ashtin Witt, Elizabeth Rutherford, Taylor Watkins and Karen De La Torre. Witt is the daughter of Wade and Kellee Witt.

The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department:February 7, 12 p.m. - At 13th Street and Werner Avenue. Ryan Crow, 18, Kingfisher, driving a 2005 Ford F-150, was northbound in the inside lane of South 13th Street near Werner Avenue.

More volunteers are desperately needed for the Ombudsman Program at the Long Term Care Authority of Enid, Area Agency on Aging.

Happy Homemakers held a meeting Feb. 10 at the Kingfisher Church of the Nazarene. Amy Tollison called the meeting to order and led the flag salute. Carol Liles gave the devotion then Irene Garrett gave the treasurer’s report.

Canadian County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Shirley Lanning, 58, died in a two-car accident Friday, Feb. 14, on Northwest Expressway. Investigators’ reports indicated that Lanning’s vehicle crossed the center line for unknown reasons and collided with an oncoming eastbound vehicle head-on.
