City discusses rural water hookups, takes no action
At least one Kingfisher city commissioner would like the city’s blanket moratorium on new residential water taps outside city limits to be lifted to allow such requests to be decided on a case-by-case basis.

AREA DEATH: Raymond Wright
Raymond D. Wright was born Nov. 10, 1940, in Wanette to Clarence Melton and Lillian Catherine (Kimery) Wright.
He passed away Friday, May 10, 2019, at his home in Watonga, at the age of 78.
Raymond graduated from Geary High School.

Growing Pains
When Jason Sternberger arrived in Kingfisher in 2011, the school district housed 1,270 students.
In the eight years since, that number has ballooned to 1,579.
Essentially, KPS has added two large grade levels in that span, but hasn’t added the infrastructure to grow with that number.
